It is estimated by 2025, there will be around 13m tech-related roles in the US, yet only 97k are graduating with Computer Science degrees at university/college, and only 18k of this number are women.

This means that there will only be 1 qualified woman for every 772 tech roles in the US by 2025.

The current university/college system (Computer Science grads) will not fill this gap on its own, and companies have a limited pool of new tech talent.

“At Code First Girls, we are acting on this challenge. Our focus is on driving social impact and building out a more diverse tech workforce globally, working with company partners to place tech talent into roles, but equally upskilling and educating as many women as possible to help reduce the digital skills gap globally.”
